INP

ISLAMABAD – The federal cabinet will be meeting here at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat on Monday to discuss the political situation, damages by floods, energy crisis and excessive electricity billing.

Official sources said on Sunday that Adviser on Water and Power Dr Musaddiq will brief the cabinet about excessive electricity billing over which all sections of the society have been raising hue and cry.

The prime minister had directed Dr Musaddiq to investigate into the matter and report to him about the extra billing. According to sources, the cabinet will particularly discuss the situation arising out of the two sit-ins by the PTI and the PAT and the disclosure of secret meeting between Dr Tahirul Qadri and Imran Khan in London.

Though a couple of federal ministers have asked the protesting leaders to explain the objectives of their meeting in London, it is expected that the cabinet would decide for adopting a more aggressive stance against the two leaders to expose them before the people regarding their conspiracies against Pakistan.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is to brief the cabinet about the damages caused by the floods and the prime minister is expected to take certain decision for the rehabilitation of the victims as the floods have almost crossed Sindh without any notable damage in the province.
