COAS for working with traditional resolve to serve nation


RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Wednesday told the army officers and men to continue working with their traditional unflinching resolve and utmost dedication in the service of the nation.

The COAS was addressing the officers and soldiers of NLI Regiment at the annual commanding officers conference held at the Northern Light Infantry Regimental Centre Bunji in Gilgit, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of Pakistan Army.

On arrival, the Army Chief laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of motherland.

The COAS appreciated the high state of morale, operational preparedness and vigil being maintained by troops along the most challenging front line.

Later, General Raheel Sharif also met with war veterans, inquired about their well being and commended their services for the country.

He also pinned badges to formally install Lieutenant General Ikram Ul Haq as new Colonel Commandant NLI Regiment.

Earlier, on his arrival at the Regimental centre, Chief of Army Staff was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lieutenant General Ikram Ul Haq Inspector General training and Evaluation.
