All major rivers continue to flow normally

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that presently all main Rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej continue to flow normal.
According to daily FFC report on Wednesday, the actual river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela and Mangla Dams have attained their maximum conservation levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet respectively.
The Dam Management Authorities have been advised to take utmost care and vigilance in operation and strictly follow filling criteria and safety guidelines. The combined live storage capacity of Tarbela, Chashma and Mangla reservoirs is 14.094 MAF as compared to last year s 12.718 MAF.
According to Flood Forecasting Division Lahore, a shallow trough of Westerly Wave lies over Northeastern Afghanistan whereas seasonal low continues to prevail over Northwestern Balochistan.
As predicted by the Flood Forecasting Division Lahore, scattered thundershowers are expected over Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat and Rawalpindi Divisions including Mohmand and Bajaur agencies besides Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and upper catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej during the next 24 hours.
Isolated thundershowers may occur over Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore Divisions during the same period. Significant rainfall events as reported by Flood Forecasting Division Lahore during the past 24 hours include Islamabad (Zero Point & Golra 23 mm each, Shamsabad 20 mm, Bokra 19 mm, Saidpur 17 mm and Airport 15 mm) Mangla & Kallar 13 mm each and Palote 10 mm.
