Qureshi among 209 MPs submit assets details to ECP
INPISLAMABAD - Around 209 members of the National and Provincial Assemblies including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi have submitted details of their assets to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to the ECP, 209 out of 1174 members of Senate, NA and PAs have submitted their asset details till Wednesday. Other prominent politicians who have not submitted their asset details included PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah and Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali. The ECP said that total details of the assets received are 209 in which 29 are from Senate, 75 are from NA, 38 are from Punjab Assembly, 48 are from Sindh Assembly, 19 are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and six are from Balochistan Assembly.
All members of the Senate, National Assembly and the Provincial Assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Paktunkhwa and Balochistan are required to submit yearly statements of their assets and liabilities, their spouses and dependents in the Election Commission Secretariat by September 30, 2014.
