By Asim Qadeer Rana

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday left for New York to attend the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Prime Minister Sharif is expected to meet different world leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA session, especially Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, diplomatic sources told Daily Times on Tuesday. “The Sharif-Modi meeting is almost finalised. Hopefully, there will be a good news in this regard,” a senior diplomatic official told this correspondent on the condition of anonymity.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat did not officially confirm this development saying that modalities to this effect were being chalked out. “Nothing is final as of now but both sides are trying to make a headway,” a PM Secretariat representative said when contacted by this scribe.
