Government sends out Eid package for IDPs
PESHAWAR: The Punjab government dispatched Rs.7000 per family for the people of North Waziristan displaced due to the on going military operation in the area.
However most of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) have failed to receive the relief amount due to the procedural problems faced to disperse the money.
According to a report by a non government organization around 1.1 million IDPs have been registered with the FATA disaster management Authourity (FDMA).
Only 60,586 out of the 96,966 registered families have been verified by NADRA. The relief amout has failed to reach 36,000 families so far.
According to the effectees the thump prints of most of the people could not be verified because of which the Rs 7000 Eid package per family could not reach most of them.
