Fazl no more mediator in govt-MQM talks
JUI-F chief refuses to continue mediation as deadlock persists
INP
PESHAWAR - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has refused to continue playing role of mediator between the government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as deadlock between the two persists despite ‘all out’ efforts.
During a meeting of his party’s central committee here on Saturday, Fazl said that he spare no efforts to remove differences between the government and the opposition party but the two sides have showed no elasticity in their attitude to resolve the issue of resignations.
The central committee also expressed concerns over the JUI-F chief’s struggle as arbitrator between the government and the MQM, saying it was not his job to resolve differences between the government and any political party. Fazl informed his colleagues that he spared no efforts to fulfill the tasked assigned to him.
He also said that his efforts were not regarded accordingly due to which he was disheartened.
