President points out defeat to three-time bigger enemy in 1965
Pakistan desires friendly ties with nations across world

ISLAMABAD – President Mamnoon Hussain on Sunday said that being a peace-loving country, Pakistan desired friendly ties with the nations across the world but thwarted any aggression against its independence and love for peace.

"Whenever, anyone tried to undermine our independence and love for peace, we gave befitting response to such an aggression, which is evident from the history,” he said while addressing a ceremony in connection with the Defence Day of Pakistan held here at the Pakistan Air Force Headquarters.

He said similar resolve was being manifested through the Zarb-e-Azb operation in which the armed forces were exhibiting their professional capabilities. The president expressed his pleasure over the splendid fly-past by the PAF pilots who manifested their resolve and passion for country's defence besides their professionalism.

He said the very valour led to the defeat of the enemy of Pakistan in 1965 war. September 6 is of vital importance because that day, the patriot nation and gallant armed forces defeated their three times bigger enemy.

In this historical fight, the armed forces defeated enemy historically, he said. "In this hour of ordeal, our martyrs and survivors set such examples of valour, needing to be followed by the nations across the world. This also manifests that the resolve of Pakistani nation is undeterrable."

President Mamnoon said, "we remember our soldiers and survivors with love and respect who left epic tales of courage and sacrifices." In light of the teachings of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, they made it clear to the enemy that not the pile of ammunition but steadfastness and power of faith begot the passion for country's defence.

The president congratulated the PAF and air chief for holding the impressive fly-past what, he said, not only boost nation's courage and resolve but also become a source of encouragement for the generations to come. He said this was also a matter of satisfaction that the PAF was always alert to cope with any threats and for country's security.
