Guards change at Jinnah, Iqbal’s mausoleums
On behalf army chief, Brig Bilal lays wreath on national poet’s grave

KARACHI/LAHORE – Change of guard ceremonies were held at the Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore on Sunday as part of the Defence of Pakistan celebrations.

About 75 cadets of the Pakistan Air Force Academy from Risalpur took over the guard duties at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah – the father of the Pakistani nation. Air Vice Marshal Asim Zaheer laid floral wreath at the mausoleum and offered fateha.

In Lahore, a simple but impressive change of guard ceremony was also held at the Mazar-e-Iqbal. Brigadier Bilal Javed of the Pakistan Rangers laid a floral wreath and offered fateha at the mausoleum of national poet Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal.

Pakistan Rangers took over guard duty at the Mazar-e-Iqbal. A smartly-turned out squad of the paramilitary force presented solute to the mausoleum. A well number of citizens also visited the poet's mausoleum on the day and prayed for the solidarity of Pakistan.
