13 Pakistani pilgrims die in Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: A total of 13 Pakistani intending pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia, said an official of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. According to details, 11 pilgrims died in Mecca and two in Madina. Among the dead pilgrims, two had gone to perform Haj under government scheme and 11 through private scheme. According to sources, the government would pay Rs 500,000 each to the legal heirs of the deceased pilgrims. Haj Director General Abu Akif, Ministry of Religious Affairs Additional Secretary Sajid Yousfani and Joint Secretay Noor Zaman visited the residences of the deceased and condoled their deaths. They sympathised with the heirs of the intending pilgrims. The ministry has also sent condolence letters to the heirs of the deceased pilgrims. Some of the deceased were buried in Janahtul Baqih while rest of them were buried in the graveyard of Mecca.
