PM announces decrease in electricity prices

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced that the price of electricity will be decreased in the country.

Addressing members of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and exporter groups, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said NEPRA had been advised to decrease the per unit price of electricity by Rs2.19.

The prime minister added that Rs2.14 per unit decrease would also be applicable under the monthly fuel adjustment which would be reflected in the bills of consumers in coming months.

Earlier while meeting APTMA and exporter groups, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif underscored the need for enhancing exports.

PM Nawaz assured the business community for redressing its issues, saying that PML-N government wanted to resolve issues of the said community, however, these could not be resolved in a single day and resources are required for it.

'Complete peace in Karachi in two years'

The prime minister said that the nation should unite as the time was approaching to end crime and terrorism from the country once and for all.

He said that the country was fighting a decisive war in the form of Zarb-e-Azb, and that networks and sanctuaries of terrorists had already been destroyed.

Speaking to the business leaders and representatives, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vowed that the situation in Karachi would also improve within two years.

The city will be completely peaceful in about two years, he said.
