Rangers praise Karachi residents for dismissing strike call
KARACHI: A spokesman for the Rangers praised residents of the metropolis for dismissing a strike call.
The spokesman in a statement said residents of Karachi had dismissed threats of those who are enemies of the city’s peace.
He added that the Rangers and people of Karachi stood together for peace in the city.
The MQM is observing a country-wide day of mourning on Saturday to denounce what it termed ‘extra judicial’ killing of its workers by law enforcement agencies.
Rangers in several areas of Karachi reopened petrol pumps while eight people accused of forcibly shutting down shops were also arrested by the paramilitary force which claimed they were MQM workers.
