Scotland Yard vows to bring Imran Farooq’s assassinators to justice

LONDON: The Scotland Yard on Saturday said investigation into the murder case of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq is underway, expressing the resolve to bring the murderers in the dock with the help of Pakistani authorities.

Our correspondent says the statement comes after the British investigators interviewed Mohsin Ali Syed, the prime murder suspect, in Pakistan.

Farooq, 50, a founding member of the MQM, was stabbed and beaten to death in Edgware, northwest London, as he returned home from work on September 16, 2010.

Mohsin Ali Syed's interview by London police detectives is so far the biggest development in the high-profile murder case.
