Imran says Punjab in greater need of anti-corruption move
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan on Monday while claiming that Punjab is in more desperate need of action against corruption, said he is ready to invite authorities to take similar action against unscrupulous elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“Rangers should also visit Punjab which is in greater need (of anti-corruption action),” Imran Khan said while addressing a press conference her.
On the occasion, he announced to expel Ziaullah Afridi from PTI. “If someone faces (graft) charges, he should try to prove himself innocent rather than resort to blackmailing,” he added.
He said people of Karachi are happy that corrupt people are being held to account.
Criticizing the government’s plan to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar, he said this deal would make people forget all the corruption happened in the past. “We are very well aware of who is present in Qatar,” he added.
The PTI chief demanded a third party audit of LNG deal and a similar impartial audit of Nandipur power plant project.
He question as to why nobody is being informed about the price of LNG.
