PM takes notice of increase in private school fees
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of the increase in fees of private schools.
According to the PM House spokesman, a decision has been taken to summon a meeting of chief ministers to discuss this issue.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said he was concerned with the increase in fees and the problems it had created for parents. The prime minister was quoted as saying that provincial governments should ensure that fees of private schools are affordable for the public.
The prime minister added that an ordinary person should have the opportunity to educate his children in good educational institutions.
Parents have been protesting across the country demanding that action be taken to prevent the private schools from imposing such exorbitant fee hikes.
