Khanpur water supply project to be completed by Dec 2016
ISLAMABAD – State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday assured the Senate that third phase of the Khanpur Water Supply project would be completed by December 2016.
Responding to calling attention notice, the state minister said that the Khanpur Water Supply project was started in 2001 consisting of three phases in which two phases of the project have been completed. The third phase had to be completed in 2012 but due to some financial problems it could not be completed in time.
He said that the government has allocated funds in Public Sector Development Project (PSDP) for completion of the project. Speaking on calling attention notice, Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi drew attention of the Minister for Water and Power towards a news item regarding non-completion of the Khanpur Water Supply project for the last 16 years.
