Sartaj says Pakistan can facilitate talks between Afghan govt, Taliban

ISLAMABAD - Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Thursday said that Pakistan would highlight the Kashmir issue, Indian interference and threats to strategic balance in South Asia at the United Nations.
Briefing the Senate on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to the UN General Assembly, he said that Pakistan has prepared a dossier to highlight India's involvement in abetting terrorism in the country, which would be presented at the UN General Assembly session. He expressed the hope that the UN would take notice of the Indian violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.
About sustainable development goals, Sartaj said the country would devise a comprehensive strategy by December 2015 to achieve sustainable development goals during the period from 2015 to 2030, adding that strict monitoring and vigilance of the goals would be ensured.
Regarding Pakistan-India dialogue, he said the country was ready to resume dialogue process with India on all issues including Jammu Kashmir. “Pakistan is ready to facilitate dialogue process between Afghanistan and the Taliban. Efforts are underway to help Afghanistan in achieving lasting peace,” he added.
