FATA should be part of Pakhtunkhwa: Imran
PTI chairman asks PM to announce agriculture package in federal budget
INP
NOWSHERA - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday lashed out at Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying he has conducted “biggest ever pre-poll rigging by announcing agriculture package for farmers ahead of the local government elections”.
Talking to newsmen in Nowshera, he said that Nawaz Sharif should have announced relief package for farmers in the federal budget. "Nawaz Sharif's farmer package is the biggest pre-poll rigging. If he wanted to announce a package, why didn't he put it in the budget?" he questioned.
He said the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) should be made a part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that a separate province for FATA was not viable “because a new province cannot be made near the border”.
Imran said the cabinet would have to consult FATA’s tribal leaders, elders and experts on the matter to reach a consensus on the issue, and discuss how the "old British system" could be done away with. He said the people of FATA should be given the opportunity to become a part of Pakistan and be given their due rights.
