Gen Sharif, PAF chief meet injured men at Peshawar CMH
PESHAWAR – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sohail Aman on Friday visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar to meet injured law enforcement personnel.
According to Inter Service public Relation (ISPR), the injured personnel are in high morale and spirits. More than a dozen terrorists attacked a residential compound in PAF airbase in Badaber area of Peshawar, killing at least 17 people in their deadliest assault in months following a major military offensive against them.
The soldiers moved rapidly to surround the attackers – confining them to a small area and killing at least 13 of them, according to ISPR Director General Major General Asim Bajwa. The militants attacked a mosque within the camp compound and killed 16 people offering dawn prayers.
Separately an army captain was martyred in fighting with the insurgents. At least 10 soldiers were wounded in the incident.
