Olson says US stands with Pakistan against terrorism
INPISLAMABAD - US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson has extended his deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims in Friday’s heinous attack in Badaber.
“On behalf of the American Embassy and community in Pakistan, I extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to families of the victims of today’s heinous attack in Badaber,” he said in a statement.
“The US strongly condemns this senseless and inhumane act that took numerous lives, including those of 16 people inside a mosque while they were praying,” the statement added.
Olson said that the US stood with Pakistan in its struggle against terrorism and extremism, adding that few countries were as affected as Pakistan by the cruel violence perpetrated by terrorists.
“The US will continue to work closely with Pakistan to secure peace and stability in the country and in the region,” he added.
