Kabul rules out use of its soil for PAF attack
* Presidency says both countries must find common ground to be honest with each other in eliminating terrorism * Terrorism is enemy of all humans

KABUL: A day after Pakistan said the attack on Pakistan Air Force base camp in Badhaber was ‘planned and controlled’ from Afghanistan, Kabul vehemently rejected the claim.

“We reject baseless claims that the attack in Peshawar was planned or controlled from Afghanistan,” Afghan president’s deputy spokesperson Sayed Zafar Hashimi said.

On Friday, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major-General Asim Bajwa had told a news conference that Pakistan had ‘evidence’ to substantiate that the attack on PAF base had links in Afghanistan. “We have recordings which reveal the attack was planned, executed and controlled from Afghanistan,” the DG said, hours after the attack which left 29 martyred.

“The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan believes that terrorism is the enemy of all humans and that there are no good or bad terrorists. So, because of this the regional governments, especially Afghanistan and Pakistan, must find common ground to be honest with each other in eliminating this phenomenon,” the statement said.

The presidency said that the military operation by Pakistan in Waziristan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has impacted Afghanistan and Pakistan and that the government of Afghanistan has conducted massive efforts to fight terrorism in recent years. “Once again we are calling on Pakistan to jointly work with Afghanistan in fighting all terrorist groups honestly so that peace and stability can come to Afghanistan, Pakistan and the region. The Afghan Foreign Ministry also issued a similar statement. “No terrorist group will be allowed to use Afghan soil against neighbouring countries,” Afghan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Shakeb Mustaghni told Afghan media on Saturday.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistani Taliban leader Oman Mansoor, who spoke in a video along with a group of 14 militants, used Afghanistan’s cell number to contact media persons in Pakistan.
