Rain, strong winds break heat spell in Karachi

KARACHI: Rain in different parts of Karachi on Monday broke a days-long heat spell in the city, with some areas receiving downpour with strong winds.

A heatwave appeared to have persisted for the fourth consecutive day in the city with the Meteorological Office earlier predicting temperatures likely to reach 41 degrees Celsius.

But rain and cooler winds finally seem to have broken the heat spell, a welcome sign for the city's residents. Federal B Area, North Nazimabad and other parts of the metropolis were among the areas that received little drizzle today, while strong winds were experienced in areas around the Super Highway.
