Imran disappointed over violation of merit in LG polls
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan says gross violations of discipline has come to light in the local bodies elections. While addressing a press conference in Peshawar Khan added that he is disappointed at the violation of merit within his party.
He told journalists, that in future nobody will be allowed to give tickets to their relatives and added that 55 people have been expunged from the party because they violated the party’s discipline.
Imran Khan said Ziaullah Afridi has been suspended and will remain suspended until he clears his name however Khan defended CM Pervaiz Khattak absolving him of any involvement.
Imran Khan said Rangers help has been sought in Sindh and Punjab to curb corruption, however in Khyber Pakhunkhwa that is not the case and no help has been sought.
Speaking on the issue of street children, the PTI chairman said street children will be integrated into the society and for that steps will be taken to provide a home for street children soon.
He added that he will build grounds in the province including the construction of the Wasim Akram Sports Academy. Sports facilities will be provided at union council level, Imran Khan added. Khan said Peshawar’s T20 team deserves to be congratulations for its victory in the national T20 cup.
Imran Khan said he has sought funds from the federal government to build rail tracks in the province, but complained the center is not helping because it wishes to make PTI fail in its mission. He complained that the center is not giving Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its due share of natural gas.
