Dr Asim’s medical reports normal, Rangers tells court
INP
KARACHI - Sindh Rangers officials on Wednesday informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that all medical tests of Dr Asim Hussain were normal, two days after former federal minister was admitted to the hospital due to complaints of cardiac pain.
The former petroleum minister was brought to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Karachi on Monday night after he complained of chest pain and his condition deteriorated. On an urgent application filed by his spouse Zareen Hussain the next day, the SHC ordered that Dr Hussain not be shifted from the hospital unless doctors of the Sindh Rangers were satisfied with his medical condition.
But a report submitted to the court by the Sindh Rangers today claimed that all his tests are normal and that even his family did not have any history of cardiovascular disease. The Rangers report said that Dr Hussain was admitted to the hospital only due to minor pain.
Dr Asim’s daughter submitted before the court that his father’s life was not safe under Rangers custody.
