Foreign secretary says problems in Afghan can be solved through negotiations not by blame game
NEW YORK – Foreign Secretary Aizaz Chaudhry has said that Pakistan is concerned over situation in Afghanistan and it sincerely wants peace there, a private TV channel reported.
Talking to the press conference along with Pakistan’s Permanent Ambassador to United Nations Maleeha Lodhi, he said Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan sincerely – which will bring peace and stability to the entire region.
The foreign secretary said that problems in Afghanistan can be solved through negotiations, and not by blame game. He said that the Pakistan government has been in contact with the Afghan leadership, adding that dialogue process with it will continue.
Commenting on reforms in United Nations Security Council, he said that Pakistan was in favor of comprehensive reforms, but that process will not be accomplished by increasing the number of the permanent members. He said that there was unrest among the Kashmiris due to atrocities of the Indian forces.
