Reports find no traces of alcohol in Sharjeel Memon’s blood
KARACHI: Medical reports of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon suggested no traces of alcohol were found in his blood sample.
The PPP leader’s medical tests were conducted after the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP)) Justice Saqib Nisar found liquor bottles from his hospital room which was declared sub-jail.
On Saturday, the CJP paid a surprise visit to Sharjeel Memon‘s hospital room where he found bottles of alcohol, drugs and cigarette packets.
It was claimed by Sharjeel’s servants there that one bottle contained honey and the second was of olive oil.
A high-level committee was also formed by Inspector General (IG) Sindh to probe the matter.
The committee will be headed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Javed Alam Ohdo.
Superintendent Police (SP) investigation South and SP investigation East are also included in the committee.
The committee will present its report within a week after completing the investigation.
