Nawaz, Maryam, Safdar’s parole extended by three days
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar apprised that Nawaz, Maryam, and Capt (r) Safdar’s parole was extended for three days

ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has decided on Wednesday to extend the parole of former premier Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam, and son-in-law Captain (r) Mohammad Safdar’s by three days.

Three of them were released from Adiala Jail on a 12-hour parole to attend Begun Kulsoom Nawaz’s funeral, who passed away in London on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to the media, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar apprised that Nawaz, Maryam, and Capt (r) Safdar’s parole was extended for three days.

Furthermore, Buzdar denied the reports that ‘Jati Umra had been declared a sub-jail’.

“They are in police custody. We will abide by the rules of parole,” he added.

Punjab Home Department spokesperson also confirmed a three day extend in parole. A summary in this regard has been forwarded to the Punjab chief minister, he added.


The spokesperson further said, “The extension end on Saturday night.”

“In case of a delay in Begum Kulsoom’s funeral, the parole will be extended further,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson also denied the news of declaring Jati Umra as sub-jail.

previously, after Kulsoom’s death, Sharif family had requested for a five-day parole for three of them.

On late Wednesday, three of the were released on parole.
