Association
for the Development of Pakistan

I am a Pakistani MBA student in Boston and recently
came across your online magazine. I was quite
impressed by the content, and wanted to congratulate
you on leading such an important effort. Pakistan
Link is one of the rare media options for US-based
Pakistanis and Pakistani Americans out there.
The reason I am writing to you is to ask for your
advice on getting the name out for an exciting
non-profit that I have been involved with in Boston
called the Association for the Development of
Pakistan (ADP). ADP was started by a group of
young Pakistani professionals in May 2003 with
the mission of engaging the worldwide Pakistani
community in improving the lives of the country’s
underprivileged through support for social entrepreneurship.
Our vision is to have independent community-based
chapters across the world working to select and
fund promising development efforts by local NGOs
and social entrepreneurs.
We’ve made tremendous progress to date:
raised over $20k, grown to 30+ members and 100+
donors, funded 4 projects in Pakistan and have
developed relationships with several Pakistani
NGOs (including DIL, Khubaib, Ibtida) and institutions
(such as LUMS). We are now at an inflection point,
where we see a unique opportunity to grow beyond
our Boston roots, and we would love to get your
help in growing this movement.
I encourage you to visit our web site at www.DevelopPakistan.org
to decide for yourself what you think of ADP.
