Feminine Heroes

When Shahid Afridi was called
in to bowl in the Faisalabad Test match I could
not help noticing ‘streaks’ in his
hair, the latest fad with our so-called heroes.
On the one hand he supports a ‘manly’
beard (thanks to Saeed Anwar) and on the other
he gets his hair ‘femininely’ streaked!
What kind of gender our heroes are?
Not before long Samee used to dye his hair and
Wasim Akram wore a ‘koka’. Of course
wearing of the gold chain – in line with
the African cricketers – was once the order
of the day.
What a role model do our heroes present for our
young ones to emulate! Or, is there some hidden
feminine instinct having the better of them and
urging them to behave like the fair sex in public?
