A
Role for Pakistani Doctors
By Zafar Khan
Fremont, CA
In his weekly radio address President Bush thanked
115 countries that pledged to help the victims
of Hurricane Katrina. Pakistan’s efforts
and support in the rescue operation have also
been duly lauded by the US.
On numerous occasions the US media too has shown
its appreciation for Pakistan’s role in
the war against terror and has described it as
the second-most strong country in the Muslim world.
It would be in the fitness of things if a team
of young Pakistani doctors is expeditiously dispatched
to New Orleans to take part in the relief measures.
They are sure to give a good account of themselves.
Would the President and the Prime Minister please
give a serious thought to this proposal which
could prove a highly rewarding PR exercise?
