The
Portfolio of Health

Two items caught my attention while reading newspapers.
First, there was a story headlined: “The
Punjab Health Department is considering a new
law on prevention, control and management of Hepatitis
B and C.”
The second was entitled: “The trial by jury
of Punjab Health Minister began on Monday in a
Nebraska court, for having caused the largest
outbreak of Hepatitis C when he was in medical
practice in the state before returning to Pakistan
in 2002.”
Unless we are living in the Stone Age, the Punjab
Chief Minister should have thought twice before
giving the portfolio of health to the said doctor.
