A Horrible
Dream

The other day,
I dozed off while watching an episode of ‘The
state within,’ a series shown by BBC. In
my dream, I found myself in America in the middle
of presidential election campaign where a Neocon-supported
presidential candidate was trailing behind a Democrat.
Then suddenly, the news flashed that a suicidal
terrorist exploded himself with a low intensity
nuclear bomb in Chicago causing widespread devastation.
The news spread like wildfire sprouting similar
sentiments as observed after the 9/11 attacks.
The shock woke me up to see that right at that
moment a plot was hatched by a major US Corporation
to export 25 nuclear switches to Tyrgiztan and
put the blame on its president - Uzman. The episode
also showed a defiant Tyrgiz president threatening
America with dire consequences. Obviously my dream
was influenced by the fiction, which showed how
a mega corporation could go to any extent to market
its ideology and get financial benefits irrespective
of what happens to humanity.
Let’s hope such a fiction is not repeated
in real life.
