Karzai’s
Karakul
By Dr. Ghayur Ayub

Usually a newborn lamb is slaughtered (most of
the time with cruelty) to make a Karakul. The
best Karakul is made when a pregnant sheep is
killed to remove the skin of a full term fetus,
which makes two killings for one cap. Mr. Karzai,
who is seldom seen without a Karakul and frequently
talks of preserving life; was once heard boasting
in Peshawar that he wore the best Karakul.
So far, he has been lucky to get away from critical
eyes of the reporters in places like the White
House. Can you imagine what will happen to an
American President if he is seen walking in the
corridors of the West Wing with such a cap on
his head? The media will mercilessly assail him.
Wasn’t Madonna recently taken to task for
wearing a coat made of an animal skin. And let’s
not forget what the police did when the media
reported that a celebrity participant of the Big
Brother (a popular reality TV program in UK )
was wearing a special fur coat.
