Bajaur and
Dargai

In two weeks Pakistan has lost 124
precious lives in two incidents alone. There seems
to be no end in sight to the tragic train of events.
Whereas Iraq and Afghanistan have been devastated
by foreign troops, Pakistan teeters on bitter
internal strife stemming from the air strikes
inside Pakistan.
I find the Pakistan's government's account of
the bombing of the Madrassa in Bajour untenable.
If the government was watching the activities
of the Madrassa, why did they not arrest those
people? Why did the Army have to eliminate them?
The role of a lawful government is to uphold law
and apprehend those who break the law. Since when
has it become necessary for a government to kill
people first and ask questions later, or as in
this case, never ask? This is total lawlessness.
Musharraf's government has lost all credibility
with the masses; first they murder Akbar Bugti
and now claim to have murdered 82 unarmed students
of a Maddrassa! In retaliation, the Pasthun have
avenged the death of the madrassa students by
killing 42 brave men of the Pakistan Army. It
is indeed a very tragic and ominous development.
Not even a foreign occupation Army would do such
a thing. I sincerely hope that the truth comes
out and it is revealed that it was not our Army
that attacked the Bajaur Madrassa.
