The Missing
Sherwani and Jinnah Cap

Addressing the
61st UN General Assembly, President Pervez Musharraf
showed up in a two-piece suit and tie while on
previous occasions he was impeccably dressed up
in sherwani and shalwar.
The changeover caused quite a disappointment.
Lamentably, the Jinnah cap is no longer worn on
important national occasions at home and abroad.
One does expect the president and the prime minister
as well as Pakistani diplomats posted abroad to
be smartly dressed up in the national costume
with the Jinnah cap as the impressive headgear
to boost Pakistan's image and identity.
