Musharaf’s Civilian Outfit

It
was interesting to watch General Musharaf in a
well-tailored civilian suit while addressing a
military function attended by senior military
officials of 22 countries at the National Defense
University. It was equally interesting to see
him threatening the US about quitting the coalition
force if it didn’t stop accusing him or
the ISI of not doing enough against terrorism.
He likes to attend civilian functions and political
jalsas (gatherings) in uniform. So why this paradox?
Was he trying to warn the Americans as a civilian
in 2007 after unconditionally accepting their
offer (some might call that an order) in uniform
in 2001?
