Shame
on Them
By Nadir Khan, PhD

Shame on the two
cleric brothers for attempting to establish a
state within a state.
Shame on them for taking the responsibility of
interpreting Islam for all of us.
Shame on them for not listening to reason and
wisdom of their own teachers.
Shame on them for distorting the face of a beautiful
faith.
Shame on them for using the pulpit of the house
of the One to spread fear and hatred among peaceful
citizens.
Shame on them for sending in vice squads and taking
the law in their own hands and destroying people’s
businesses.
Shame on them for taking law enforcement officers
and foreign nationals of a friendly country as
hostages.
Shame on them for using innocent girls from far
of villages as shields for their own safety.
Shame on them of hoarding arms in the house of
the One and justifying it in the name of Islam.
Shame on them to use very young orphans as a shield
to avoid the final outcome of decisions.
Shame on the National Accountability Board (NAB)
for dropping all the charges against Asif Zardari
and Benazir Bhutto after a decade of investigations,
just before the elections and on the day when
the entire nation was glued to television about
the Lal Masjid tragedy. Mr. ten percent must be
really celebrating!!
Shame on Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif to make a deal
on rotating the premiership between them without
ascertaining the wishes of the people of Pakistan
-- the true owners of their destiny.
Shame on Musharraf for sending a reference against
the Chief Justice on flimsy grounds to get the
Justice out of his way for reelection purposes
and then letting Zardari and Bhutto go free after
they had emptied the national treasury. Let us
make a deal!!
Shame on Musharraf for not letting Pakistani citizens
return to their own country to participate in
the political process.
Shame on them who keep quiet in the face of bigotry,
discrimination, injustice and violence against
the weak and the vulnerable.
