Handling
of the CJP
By Dr Ghayur Ayub
London, UK
On March 13, 2007,
the honorable CJP, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry,
was pushed and pulled by his hair in a most disgraceful
manner by the elite force of Gereral Musharaf
as if he was a common criminal.
On May 6, 2007 he was pushed and pulled again
but with respect by the public that exuberantly
showered him with petals and affection.
This is how the government and the public treat
the CJP who brought justice to the doorsteps of
the poor and who wants to stand for the rights
of the people.

No Legs to Stand on
Isn’t it an irony of fate that the government
which accused the Honorable CJ Ifthikhar Chaudry
for (mis)using helicopters for his private travels
offered him the same facility for his private
journey to Lahore? By doing so it has weakened
its case in the SJC.
In another development, when the honorable CJ
justifiably objected to three judges sitting in
SJC on legal grounds; General Musharaf responded
by objecting to the composition of the larger
bench of SC approved by the honorable Acting CJP
Rana Bhagwandas. The reason? The acting CJ had
ignored the senior judges!
General Musharaf-led government would have no
legs left to stand on if it kept on shooting itself
on the foot again and again.
