Vote for Musharraf

Pakistan's current parliamentarians must not
vote for Musharraf as he is not a symbol of unity
and of good moral standing. He has killed, kidnapped,
tortured and incarcerated his opponents without
even trying to prove charges against them. He
has turned Pakistan's professional military into
a mercenary force of bounty hunters, who kill
and kidnap people for financial reward. Musharraf's
proclivity towards MQM is most disturbing and
divisive for the country. MQM continues to torture
and kill any opponents in Karachi without any
fear because Pakistan's General President has
given them a free hand.
As soon as Musharraf files his nomination papers,
I urge all conscientious parliamentarians to resign
whether they belong to the government or opposition.
They must search inwards, inquire their conscience
if supporting Musharraf is the right thing for
Pakistan's integrity, sovereignty and moral values.
Musharraf represents deceit and oppression.
Pretty soon these parliamentarians will have to
face the general electorate and they must realize
that a common citizen of Pakistan has total revulsion
for Musharraf. If they vote for Musharraf in this
shameful presidential election, I am certain the
masses of Pakistan would reject them overwhelmingly.
