Fulfillment of Gen Zia’s Dream

Today I congratulate everyone because Gen Zia’a dream has been fulfilled and a teenaged girl has been shamelessly flogged in Swat. I also wish to congratulate Imran Khan, the Jama’at-e-Islami leadership, Lt-Gen Hameed Gul, the ANP government in the NWFP, and the majority of Urdu-language columnists and some English writers, who endorse the idea of making deals with the Taliban.
The video of the young girl being flogged in Swat has shocked everyone in the civilized world. It is a shame that religious parties have been reluctant to condemn the incident. I am aghast at the attitude of the witnesses to this gory act. They were hardly moved by the cries of the helpless girl. What message are we sending out to the civilized world?
It is also sad to read the comments of people who are living in a state of denial. They have cast doubts about the severity of the lashing as immediately after the whipping the "victim got up and walked away without a limp." If the video was fake, why did the Taliban accept responsibility and claim they had done the right thing?
Everything is a conspiracy to those who are in a state of denial. They have lost the ability to think, reason or be logical. Speaking from a psychological point of view the innocent girl must have been so embarrassed that she did not want to be there, that’s why she quickly got up and left.
