PPP Ministers & TV Talk Shows

The President of Pakistan, who is also the Co-Chairman of PPP, should stop sending a few ministers (and there are a large number of them) to popular talk shows on television channels. They create a poor impression of his party because of their pathetic performance.
Facing penetrating questions of Kashif Abbasi in the presence of two competent stalwarts of ‘N’ and ‘Q’ Leagues, a lady federal minister from Punjab took a nosedive on the issue of principles in democracy the other day. Each argument she gave not only shattered the image of the PPP, but exposed the minister’s own incompetence. The other two guests frequently burst out into sarcastic laughter. To make the situation worse, she kept interfering unnecessarily in the discussion when the other talk show participants were airing their viewpoint with convincing logic. Is the PPP ministers’ performance so pathetic because the party leaders have put them in an awkward situation or do they really not know how to answer genuine questions? And why does such dismal performance remind me of the last days of Musharaf’s regime when his ministers fell flat on their face during similar discussions.
