Thank You, Imran

I congratulate Imran Khan for his forthright and cogent response to various innuendos and insinuations about his position regarding the Taliban. I am reassured that a person of such integrity and intelligence is not supporting the Taliban brand of Islam. I personally have great respect for Imran. His cricket leadership is undeniable, his contribution to the welfare of society is highly commendable, his political views are clear and of course controversial. Anyone who takes a clear stand on issues is bound to be controversial. Controversyies are good for the society as they generate intelligent debate. I believe that Honorable Imran Khan is adding tremendous value to the overall knowledge of the nation about the Taliban and Islam. His voice carries weight, his personality lends credence to these issues.
I may not agree with his positions, however, I am indebted to him for his courage and vision and for creating an awakening amongst the masses. Those who are taking cheap shots at Imran Khan are indeed very narrow minded people who are pre-disposed to a solution and unwilling to understand the real issue or discuss alternatives.
