Bhutto the President

To put the record straight for posterity it would be appropriate if the Supreme Court of Pakistan examines the legal aspect of ZAB taking over  as President of the country on December 20 th 1971. Apparently, the PPP had participated in the general elections held in a united Pakistan in 1970 and lost it. No fresh elections were held thereafter in the remaining Pakistan. After the fall of Dacca, the sentiments of the people were highly volatile and quite a few of them held ZAB responsible for the secession. If elections were held at that critical period of our national history the results could have been anybody’s guess. However, ZAB was sworn in as the President and the first and only civilian Martial Law Administrator ostensibly on the basis of the results of the 1970 elections that he and his party had lost.

Legally speaking, was his taking over as President of the country lawful and should it not be examined now along with his judicial murder case already being heard by the Supreme Court of Pakistan?

Osama in Abbottabad

Come to think of it, Osama in an Abbottabad compound with three wives for five long years, never once leaving it for a breath of fresh air outside!!  The man must have had nerves of steel.  Most of us can’t put up with just one wife for more than a week in a closed house.
