Eric Garcetti for Mayor!

It’s hard to meet a politician who speaks Urdu, can name all the countries in South Asia, and knows that India and Pakistan are two different countries! Garcetti is indeed well versed about the communities he serves and thus truly understands the cultural sensitivities of all the different communities that live in LA. His ability to transcend the limits of all individual cultures is what makes him a great choice for mayor of Los Angeles.
Prior to his campaign he was intensely engaged in dialogues with the interfaith communities. Post 9/11, he worked closely with the Muslim-American community to fight bigotry and intolerance. Moreover, his passions for human rights, women’s empowerment, and relentless belief in the power of conflict resolution have made him well respected in and around California.
On the economic front, he has helped revive many small businesses, transformed neighborhoods like Echo Park, Atwater Village, Hollywood and Silver Lake, into thriving business districts. He was able to triple the number of parks and provide after-
school programs to every child in his district.
Having been a lifelong Democrat, he even recalls licking envelopes for Jimmy Carter’s campaign at age 9. Before being elected LA City Council member, he was on the board of LA County Young Democrats. In 2008, Garcetti was SoCal’s Chairman for Barack Obama’s campaign for President. Later on, he became an Obama Superdelegate.
Presently, Garcetti’s campaign is in full swing and if it keeps gathering momentum at the present pace, he is sure to be the Mayor of Los Angeles.
