A New East India Company

PML (N) is celebrating a "successful" China visit by Nawaz Sharif. I
look at it from a different angle. To me, it seems that a new "East
India Company" is coming to the sub-continent. Soon foreign
corporations will control our seaports, airlines, railways, motorways
and energy plants. They will prove to us that they can run our home
better than us, as did the East India Company.
We cannot overlook world history. An Anglo-French company constructed the Suez Canal and controlled global navigation for more than 100 years, till 1956, to be precise. The Americans constructed the Panama Canal and still control it. ARAMCO controlled the oil wealth of Saudi Arabia.
Do we want foreigners to control our economy? They will then control
our politics, too.
