Altaf’s Outburst and Role of MQM

I regret and strongly protest the stance taken by the party chief in reaction to the charges of rigging against the MQM in Karachi during the just concluded elections. Altaf Hussain threatened Pakistan, its integrity, and the Election Commission. He cannot use such strong words, threaten Pakistan of dire consequences, challenge its very existence and then expect that people of Pakistan would accept him.
In my opinion the present MQM leadership is not truly representative of Karachi and Hyderabad. I believe the people of Karachi are very patriotic and they wish to see the city prosper. The party needs new leadership. My request to the descendents of the Urdu-speaking migrants from India is to lead Pakistan towards moderation and prosperity.
The members of MQM have the skills and attributes to lead the country, and that is what they should aim for.
