The State of the Muslim World Today

“And when it is said to them: ‘Create not disorder on the earth,’ they say: ‘We are only promoters of peace’” (Qur’an, 2:12). The Muslim world seems to have completely forgotten this very important verse written in their holy book. No matter where we look, there is chaos and disarray everywhere. Whether it be the crisis in Palestine, Boko Haram continuing its kidnapping campaign of school girls, ISIS trying to create their own caliphate in Iraq and Syria, or the mistreatment of minorities in Pakistan.
I fear that the world around me is beginning to unravel and fall apart piece by piece. Islam is a religion of peace, yet certain groups and individuals have used Islam to create disorder for humanity solely for the sake of gaining power. But I would like to say loudly and emphatically, that a true Muslim should be against this disorder and chaos and that we as a community must recognize this so that peace and stability are restored for all mankind.
