Political Camaraderie

Of late quite a few amusing veiled threats have been hurled by the opposition and the ruling party at each other. We hear one cautioning the other that he had heaps of NAB files on him which he didn’t want to open. And the other warning not to compel him to make public the anti-state activities that his opponent had been involved in.
Is it just political sparring or is there any substance in such threats? If these are for real, then should the person privy to such secrets not take the offender(s) to court? For, knowing of a crime having been committed and not reporting it tantamount to being an accomplice in that offence. For how long will our political elite keep fostering their “political camaraderie” to keep themselves in power?
