We just held our 3rd annual
“Celebrating Empowering Voices” Gala in Washington, DC, where we celebrated
seven remarkable individuals who have empowered our work by increasing our impact and engagement with the administration, federal agencies, Congress and partners in civil society.
In a climate of hysteria and bigotry, these individuals remind us that it’s not all doom and gloom.
For every call to ban Muslims from entering the US, we have
Congresswoman Judy Chu and
Congressman André Carson responding.
For every presidential candidate calling for patrolling of Muslim neighborhoods, we have
Secretary of Labor Tom Perez and
Ben Rhodes in the White House to push back.
For every policy proposal that seeks to exclude communities, we have legislation by
Congressman Don Beyer that commends the contributions of American Muslims.
And, for every fear-monger who maligns refugees and wants to close our borders, we have
Congressman Xavier Becerra and
Secretary of Education John King who work to open spaces for partnerships and understanding.
It is because of your investment in MPAC, that our access and reach in DC continues to flourish as we build bridges and amplify our voice. Your continued support provides hope for a more pluralistic, inclusive America!
