Burma Task Force for Rohingya Needs Your Support

As people celebrate their Mother’s today, please remember Rohingya mothers watching their children suffer.
Last night, the Duas of a Rohingya Imam were lifted up with yours Ameen. Our program began with Duas for Palestine, as about 1,600 of you joined online. You also saw the video produced by youth in Rohingya camps for Burma Task Force. You saw them together in Iftar and their hut Masjids. You noticed the malnourished children. Did you notice how sharp the barbed wire detaining Rohingyas in the largest refugee camp in the world is? May Allah give them Sabr.
Walking up and down Rohingya camps, the most noticeable thing for me was their Sabr and loudest thing was their silence. Allahu Akbar.
Who will stand up for them if not you and I?
The Burmese army has committed the genocide of Rohingya Muslims.
- The Burma Task Force has taken these military leaders to the International Court of Justice.
- We are listening to Rohingya and amplifying their voices at the Congress, the White House and the United Nations.
Despite Muslim Ban the US delivered $1.2 Billion US Aid for Rohingyas: Because of your calls, speaking up, and advocacy, the US government gave $1.2 billion to Rohingya refugees. This is despite the anti-Muslim rhetoric of former US President Donald Trump. America became the largest contributor in the world to Rohingya refugees. In addition, our efforts with the Canadian government resulted in $300 million in relief for the Rohingyas. Alhamdu lillah, your contributions and efforts matter.
Of course we were not alone. Our partners stood up for Rohingyas. Burma Task Force itself is a coalition of 38 organizations. They all deserve the credit. Thanks to your efforts, the Republican National Committee and then the Republican Congress were the first to pass a resolution calling the Burmese army’s campaign of extermination of the Rohingya a genocide.
Let the Rohingya Educate themselves: One of the tragedies second only to the genocide is that Rohingyas are not allowed to educate themselves as refugees. Bangladesh limits their education to the third grade. Why in the world would anyone want them to remain uneducated? Burma stopped Rohingya education in 1982 and since 2012, even closed down Madrassas.
I have personally met Bangladeshi and UN leaders requesting them to lift the education ban. This is going to be our major effort this year.
But we cannot do without you. Please donate.
Last night was special. May Allah accept all your duas.
God controls the world. We don’t.
But when we come to know about injustice, it becomes our responsibility to stop it. This has been the mission of Justice For All from its start in the early 1990s.
Please join us in fighting for those who cannot speak. Donate so that we can keep fighting for the human rights of the Ummah.
The reason I continue to chair, donate, and work is simple: I believe that when Muslim Americans organize and advocate, it delivers results. I have not only seen this first hand, I have been blessed to be part of the movement that has helped save lives and end suffering worldwide. Won’t you join me this Ramadan and beyond?
PS: May Allah give victory to the oppressed and guide the oppressors. Ameen
PPS: Please remember us in your last days of Ramadan as you pray for yourself. Some of us have to seek professional help since it in not easy to know the human faces of our people and the genocide they are facing.
